FEEDING THE DUCKS!

My darling granddaughter loves feeding the ducks at the local bird sanctuary. She just got the hang of throwing the seeds and went through a whole pail in a few minutes. She was surrounded by the hordes of ducks but it didn't seem to bother her much!

AMUSEAPALOOSA for ME!

Yep, I just returned from a few days down south and was able to visit a lot of stamp and scrapbooking shops while I was there. I made a pilgrimage to the A Muse store on Greenwood, in the north end of Seattle. Funny little store with a BIG backend filled with stamps, etc. to be shipped. But they have every A Muse and Elzybells stamp known to man. And good prices for a Canadian shopper!

The casino wasn't bad either, but I wish it was non-smoking. It did, however, help to improve my shopping trip significantly! Before I left, I did a couple of other Easter cards which I will post below. The first is a quicky little number coloured with Copics a splash of Spica pen for glitter. The paper is all SU including the green dotted from a retired paper pad.

The second one is a religious Easter card. It can be really hard to find a nice religious image these days but this one struck a cord. Simple and meaningful.

The background on the card is BG Infused. It seems to enhance the simple rugged cross and spare Easter lilies. It seems to reflect the meaning of the passion and the simplicity of the message of Christ's Resurrection. The rest of the paper is SU certainly celery and purely pomegranate. The ribbon is the now retired burgundy satin ribbon with some raspberry dewdrops on the image. The image is also coloured with copics and with a little Stickles .

2 Posts in ONE DAY!

I have a second card to show that is quite muted. I have been coveting a Whipper Snapper stamp for a long time so I finally broke down and bought it. I wanted to use non traditional colouring so I went with the fall colour combo of brown, green, orange-yellows and pink. The MME Out and About paper was the inspiration for the colouring and it just came together in a jiff. Used SU choc. Chip CS and SU olive grosgrain with a small textured ribbon over top. The orange-brown dew drops just added the right finishing touch along with some sparkily MME buttons that matched.

Sharon's No time to Stamp Challenge ssnotime26

Thought I would try one of Sharon's great challenges. I haven't done piercing very much so I used a template that is for threading embroidery. I scalloped it along the right edge of the SU temp. turquoise card stock. I just got some fab textured specialty paper from the Paper Company (raindrops) which matched the MME Confetti DP well. The flowers and sentiment are stamped in Ranger Lamp Black and then coloured in Copic markers to match. Copics are so versatile -- there always seems to be a colour that works! I just used a marvy puch for the scallopped cut.

WOW I've been Tagged!

This is my first one! I'm a Tag Virgin. I was tagged by Karen here goes I am supposed to to list 7 things that are weird or different about ME ,of all people. Not very often I get asked that!


Numero Uno: I like to travel to places and spend more time watching people than visiting the sites.


Number Zwei: I have been married to the same guy for.... Oh My Gosh! ....almost 31 years! And dated for 8 years before that. You'd think I might not be surprised by him after all that time, but it ain't so.


Number TREE: Ok that is not really another language but I have the silliest granddaughter and I just like to revert.


Number Four: I LIKE to add up columns of numbers. Good thing, as that is what I do all day.


Number Five: I like to walk in the rain without an umbrella. Living on the West Coast feeds this addiction. I told you I have vices.


Number Zex; German 6 but I can't spell it, I just like to say it! That's weird.


Number 7: I have a silly sense of humour that really isn't noticeable to strangers.

Some Easter Cards as Promised.

Done several card and hope to get a few more done as we are going away and be to late to mail other wise. So here goes.

This one is similar to the baby card I sent to my new grand nephew, but reworks as an Easter card. I again used Basic Grey's DP 2 Scoops and coloured with copic markers and Spica pen.

This one a simple A Muse stamp and card base with felt flowers and copic colouring. The colours of the scan are not very true as the flowers are orange. So you get the idea! Love those cute little guys!

I know, more 2 scoops already! I JUST CAN'T HELP IT! I used the new Cuttlebug dot embossing folder to texture the background and added a soft pink ribbon. Everything about this paper is soft and JUST LIKE ICE CREAM. Imagine! MM flower and brad and bob's your uncle. He sure isn't mine. ha ha. Getting a little silly here. Gotta go!!

Easter Chicks!

I think Easter Time is a very special time of rebirth spiritually and in nature. It should be joyful and we should celebrate it with enthusiasum. I made a cheery card -- simple but fun. The DP is MME's confetti, which couldn't get much brighter!

I used an A Muse chicks stamp coloured with Copic markers. The chicks and parts of the eggs are highlighted with Spica clear marker. It was really easy and fun. Oh yes, the greeting is stamped with SU soft sky which matches beautifully with the soft aqua in the paper.

WIne Tasting was a Hit!

Just thought I would drop a quick note to thank Deb once again for the wonderful treat and night out. You can't beat a gourmet meal by a terrific chef and wine pairings to boot!. Didn't even have to do the dishes! I think my favourites of the 5 courses was Crab Ravioli in Roasted Red Pepper Cream Sauce. Yum!! Yum!! We got to ask questions and help out and even got the recipes to try at home. Honourable mention should also go to the Braised Pear in White Cranberry - Apple Wine with Carmel sauce drizzle! NO calories of course.

Granddaughters are Great!

My GD is a real entertainer. She loves to make people laugh! She decided the bucket her small toys are stored in was better suited to her head than her toys.

The cardstock is bazzill and the Dp is Basic Grey 2 Scoops. I had fun with the hand cut flowers and little dohickies saved from some great birthday cards. Recycle, recycle, recycle! Especially when it is for scrapbooking!. Hope you enjoy it.

Dad's 87th Birthday Card

My wonderful Dad is celebrating his birthday soon and I wanted to make him a special card. He has always been an inspiration to me. Hardworking, kind and selfless ... and he is getting better with age. (Could it be that I just appreciate him more everyday?) Have a Happy Birthday, Dad!

I have always loved this MME Bohemia paper,but never could quite figure out how to use it. I saw the TECC6 challenge on SCS and thought I would give it a try. I have never done a challenge before, so I hope it meets the requirements! I used SU Night of Navy for the image and then lightly inked and distressed the edges of the image. The stamps are Su's Always and For a Friend. I used the punch to cut the hole on the edge of the green scalloped and then threaded navy ribbon (unknown). Just added 4 dew drops (hydrangea mix) and raised the image on foamies. I hope he likes it.

My Dear BFF

It has been terrific weather here on the West Coast for the last few days. Sunny and the slightest hint of warmth from the sun. I just had to make this card for Deb from the Doodlebug paper Spring. It is really cheery and fun, just like Deb!

The cardstock is SU Certainly celery with doodlebug DP, tag and ribbon. I stamped the (how cute!) Amuse "holding hands" stamp with Ranger lamp black and coloured it with copic markers (Yoo, Y02, RV02, RV10, YG13, E00, E27 ). The circle and scalloped circle(SU pixie pink) was cut with the spellbinder on my cuttlebug. To add a little more texture , I stamped the top with one of the itty bitty stamps from the new SU "Always" set. I also added A Muse creative candy mini stars to the flower in her hair and the single flower for that little bit of twinkle. Hope she will like it!

Another One to Celebrate the New Baby!

This time the card is for the new parents, James and Amy and of course, Eric's big brother J.J. I used the boy version of Basic Grey's 2 Scoops for the DP on a background of SU Wild Wasabi. I stamped the sweet bunny from SU's "A New Little Someone" on special heavy weight paper good for alcohol markers like Copics. I coloured it with Copic #B00,E11,31,Y21,Y63,R32, then inked with SU wild wasabi and distressed the edges slightly and mounted it on another piece of 2 Scoops edged in turquoise Spica marker. The bow is highlighted with the same spica marker and some aqua Stickles. Just added the cute little rattle coloured in the same colours as the image and some matching DMC embroidery thread twisted around 2 Basic Grey brads. The final touch was a no-name tag inked with the word, "new", from the SU set. I just love it when it all comes together so easily!!

I hope to post here as much as I can. It is a good way to show my paper creations, but also to keep intouch with family and friends. This is so different from my 9-5er job, and I LOVE IT!

I hope to post soon, a card I am making for my dear friend Debbie who has kindly included me in a girls night out her work is having. We get to go to eat wonderful food and test wine at a local winery. She is such a special friend, I just have to thank her in some special way. Ta ta, must be off to start the day.

My First Post!

Well, first post will be short and sweet. I just love to scrap and if I had my way, I would do it ALL DAY LONG!!!! Oh, with short breaks to play with my granddaughter, of course!



I would like to share with you a card I created for my sister and her husband -- there son and his wife had a new baby boy this morning. So they are grandparents to new little Eric Christopher!!

The base is SU cameo coral and sentiment and the DP is Basic Grey 2 Scoops (love it!). I used a Lizzie Anne flower stamp Sunflower and coloured it with Copic markers (Y21, R32 and RV14). I added that cute Amer. Crafts ribbon.
